Event explores opportunities for canadian companies to expand business in Southern Brazil
ACATE, a leading Brazilian innovation hub with a branch in Canada, promotes an event to connect Canadian companies with one of Brazil’s top technology ecosystems – Santa Catarina, home to the National Capital of Startups. The “Southern Brazil: Market Expansion & Opportunities” event will take place on March 26th, at 3 PM, at Communitech in Kitchener. Registration is now open at this link.
Focused on business and investment opportunities, the event will feature talks and participation from leading companies in open innovation in Brazil, according to the 100 Open Corps ranking: ArcelorMittal and Whirlpool. Both corporations are part of ACATE’s LinkLab program, which connects startups’ solutions with real market challenges.
These two industry leaders are strategically based in the state of Santa Catarina, in Southern Brazil, home to Florianópolis, an island known as the “Brazilian Silicon Valley. The city has emerged as Latin America’s fastest-growing startup ecosystem and received the highest amount of venture capital investment from 2022 to 2024, according to data from LAVCA (Latin American Private Equity & Venture Capital Association).
Santa Catarina is also home to ACATE, which supports a network of over 1,850 technology companies. Members gain access to incubation, acceleration, business networking, and investment opportunities at various growth stages. Since 2023, Canada has had an ACATE branch dedicated to supporting Canadian and Brazilian companies in internationalization and market expansion.
